"Pocket drumming" refers to a style that consists of a simple, solid beat that lacks the flair of a lot of fills and what-not.
This style is typically done on a kit using relatively few pieces.
i.e. you could pull it off with just a kick drum, snare, and hi-hats; but the number of pieces is irrelevant as compared to how you play them
Pocket drumming is when a drummer sits a groove so deep and never lets the tempo waver, creating a comfortable pocket for the rest of the band to play in, it is falsely labeled as an easy thing to do, however very few drummers can pull it off, and it takes a talented band to create a deep pocket. The drummer can not be held solely responsible for the time. I have personally seen some of the best drummers pocket groove's destroyed by inexperienced musician's. Check out James Brown or the Meter's for this style of playing.
Also take a listen to the Dave Matthews Band's live jam sessions; particularly Carter Beauford's drumming style.
"What is a drumming sound?" A drumming sound is any sound that keeps a beat.
nothing
Pop punk drumming is often much faster, spritely, and fun. Regular rock drumming is often harder, deeper, a bit slower, and with less manic drum fills. Both rock drumming styles are very popular though.
i do invented it.
It is called THRUMMING.
Pocket drumming techniques can enhance the overall groove and feel of a musical performance by providing a solid rhythmic foundation, adding dynamics and accents, and creating a sense of groove that can elevate the energy and emotion of the music.
To improve your drumming technique for consistent pocket playing, focus on practicing with a metronome to develop your sense of timing and groove. Work on playing with a relaxed grip and wrist motion to maintain control and precision. Additionally, study different styles of music and drumming to expand your rhythmic vocabulary and adapt to various musical contexts. Regular practice and feedback from experienced drummers can also help you refine your technique and enhance your pocket playing skills.
yes if you put it in your back pocket it kind of distracts you
In billiards the corner pocket means an opening in the billiards table into which the balls are struck into. There are also side pockets. the idea is to get the balls in to the pockets.
The are no values to the balls in either pocket billiards or English Billiards.
In 8 ball all balls can be shot into any pocket whereas in one pocket each player uses a corner pocket at the same end of table.
A drummer can improve their sense of timing and groove by focusing on playing in the drumming pocket, which is the precise and consistent placement of beats within a musical rhythm. This involves practicing with a metronome, listening closely to the music, and developing a strong internal sense of rhythm to stay in sync with the band. By honing their ability to play in the pocket, a drummer can enhance their overall musicality and contribute to a tighter and more cohesive sound.
