Most U.S. states require at least 15 feet between a fire hydrant and a parked car. Some require more, like California, which requires 20.

Back near the fire wall on the passenger side Edit: Actually, it is located near the firewall, but not the passenger side. Its in the middle closer to the driver side. That is, if its the 5.2L. I'm not sure of other engine sizes.
It is under the dash to the right of the steering column near the brake light switch. remove cover toward the fire wall look up . it is on the right hand side, it sets in a clip. pull it out much easier to change. No closer than 10 feet
Why would you think there is a fine? Did you break any laws? Unless you left the car near a fire hydrant or other no parking area then you did not break the law.
About the length of a firetruck would make common sense. Access to that fire hydrant could mean the difference of life and death of people if there is a fire near by. Most cities will have painted the curb red around hydrants.

In my state: Washington - you may park no closer than 20 feet to a crosswalk, and no closer than 30 feet to a stop or yield sign, and no closer than 15 feet to a fire hydrant. Your state may well have different regulations.
The typical ordinance says 15 feet, but some locales say 25 feet, and some just paint large red zones on the curbs and add the appropriate signage.
You are going the wrong way. White means correct direction, red means opposite direction (wrong way), blue means a fire hydrant near.
