The Beach Boys
All human children are born with high voices, because their voice boxes are not developed enough to vocalize in the lower voice ranges. Boys who sing before reaching puberty all sing in the higher ranges -- one is the soprano range -- and once their voices change, their voices fall into adult male voice ranges. Notably, the Vienna Boys Choir is composed of males all born sopranos.
The ranges of voice typically include soprano (highest), mezzo-soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass (lowest). Each range has its own specific characteristics and vocal capabilities. It's important for singers to know their range in order to choose appropriate repertoire and to avoid strain on their vocal cords.
