Another perspective:I have 12 different species of scorpions and have never gotten stung. Now you shouldn't just pick up any scorpion you find on a desert or rain forest, as some are lethal and the area you live might have some laws against having animals caught from the wild. You can find one at a local pet store for a cheap price. Before getting one please make sure you did your research on your scorpion and have all things needed to make a suitable home for your scorpion before you bring it home. Hope you change your mind about this rather beautiful creature and start an active hobby that will bring you lots of fun times.

∙ 14y agoAfrican Emperor Scorpions seem to be the most common choice for a pet scorpion. They also seem to be the most handle-safe. They are not natural to the U.S.
I have a Desert Hairy Scorpion. They are not good for handling as they are quick and aggressive, but these make them fun to watch. They are very common in Arizona where I live.
