A string cross is also known as an eye of God. You need two sticks to make the cross, and a lot of colored string. You can use yarn also. Make a loose knot with one end of a string to tie the two sticks together in the shape of a cross. Now take the string and weave it around the sticks, starting at the place where they join. Pull the string over one stick, under the next, over the stick, and under the next. Keep the string pushed up close to the previous row, unless you choose to make a very lacy, open design. Keep weaving the string over and under until the design looks the way you want it to. Most string crosses have between one and three inches of stick left. If your string isn't long enough, tie it off at one of the cross arms, and tie the next one on. Some people tie the two strings together, but I wouldn't suggest that, because the knot shows when you are finished.
Eventually, you will lose circulation to your finger and it will change color.

To string balloon curtains, first measure and cut the strings to the desired length. Tie one end of each string to the rings on the curtain panel and thread the other end through the rod pocket at the top of the curtain. Adjust the tension of the strings to create the desired balloon effect.
To tie two balloons together, simply tie the neck of one balloon with the neck of the other balloon. You can double knot them to secure the connection. Alternatively, you can use a ribbon or string to fasten the two balloons together for a more secure hold.
1 balloon (round ones will work, but the longer "airship" balloons work best)1 long piece of kite string (about 10-15 feet long)1 plastic strawtapeTie one end of the string to a chair, door knob, or other support.Put the other end of the string through the straw.Pull the string tight and tie it to another support in the room.Blow up the balloon (but don't tie it.) Pinch the end of the balloon and tape the balloon to the straw as shown above. You're ready for launch.Let go and watch the rocket fly!.So how does it work? It's all about the air...and thrust. As the air rushes out of the balloon, it creates a forward motion called THRUST. Thrust is a pushing force created by energy. In the balloon experiment, our thrust comes from the energy of the balloon forcing the air out. Different sizes and shapes of balloon will create more or less thrust. In a real rocket, thrust is created by the force of burning rocket fuel as it blasts from the rockets engine - as the engines blast down, the rocket goes up!
You can hang balloons for a party or event by using string or ribbon to tie them to a weight, attaching them to a balloon arch or garland, or using balloon clips to secure them to a surface.

If you don't tie a knot in that rope, it will start to fray.
You can keep a balloon from rising or falling by adjusting its internal pressure to match the external air pressure. If the internal pressure is the same as the external air pressure, the balloon will stay at the same altitude. Additionally, you can attach a weight to the balloon to counteract its natural tendency to rise.
