You need to try out MP3Lingo.com. It is a fairly new service but they are getting really popular. They offer unlimited music downloads for only $2 a month (I don't know how they do it!) and they are 100% legal. I've been with them for some time and they have all the songs I need and their download speeds are fast. Check them out at www.mp3lingo.com when you get a chance.

Most 'free' ringtones have a catch where you will have to subscribe to something else in order to get your 'free' tone. The best way is to use your own music from mp3 files.

It is not always possible to tell if free music is legal or not. The best thing to do would possibly be to ask the person(s) that have actually made the music. If you do not want to do this, then the chances are that what you can get for free is not "legal". Most music that are for "free" is covered by copyrights in one way or another. If the music has been released by Sony or any other large/small companies then you can surely bet on it not being for free. Regards.
