The D with a circle will allow the transmission to shift into overdrive which reduces engine RPM"S and will conserve fuel when on a highway cruise. The D without a circle will not let overdrive engage. this is useful when traveling on hilly terrain where overdrive tends to engage and disengage. I usually drive in the circle mode unless i am climbing uphill and the transmission keeps downshifting and upshifting. Rule of thumb: Circle D on the highway, and plain D in the city
Which key comes next on the circle of fifths: C, G, D, _. Key A -Apex :)
Circle to the left, old brass wagon, circle to the right, old brass wagon, circle to the right, old brass wagon, you're the one my darling! G G G G G, G G low E low D, A A A A A, low D D E G, B B B B B, A G E G, A B D E G G. Hope this helps!
I sure hope so!! :D I <3 Bon Jovi!

Type your answer here... d drive
I have a 84 camaro 2.8, what is over drive? The D without circle are D with circle?
the D refers to drive and the D w/ circle around it refers to overdrive. use drive when driving in the city and use overdrive when traveling on highways and such
Some say in town use the regular "D" and on the hiway use the circle "D". I just put it in the circle "D" sn forget it. It goes into overdrive when you use the circle "D" and you get over about 45 MPH
Driving under normal conditions use "Drive" with circle (highest gear) best fuel economy
Drive. If it has a circle around it, it has automatic overdrive.
Threre is a button just a little below the 'shift' button on the gearshift. Pushing this button in will turn off o/d. Threre is a button just a little below the 'shift' button on the gearshift. Pushing this button in will turn off o/d.
The D WITHOUT the circle around it is your 3rd gear, the D WITH the circle around it is your OVERDRIVE gear. The overdrive allows you to get better gas mileage and causes less wear on the engine. But there are times when you should NOT use overdrive, like if you are pulling a trailer up a steady hill, or some snow and icey conditions. If you want to notice the difference, put the car in D WITHOUT the cirlce around it, start out and drive at 50......then as you are going along change it to the D WITH the circle around it and you will feel and hear the difference. The engine revs will come down. It's also the same if you are in Overdrive and you press the throttle completely to the floor, your car will go into a lower gear , the D without the circle, to give you added power and then when you let off the throttle, then transmission will once again shift into Overdrive and the revs will come down and this happens without you changing the gear selector at all. D = Drive: standard drive for transmition engaged, allows for faster transition for a kick-down/passing gear... (D)= Over-Drive is for freeway travel lets the transmition stay in a higher gear for fuel economy (less RPM) the D with out the circle is normal drive wich cause more engine torque. the D with the circle is drive with overdrive wich gives less torque because it allows the transmission to shift to another higher gear.

D with the circle around it.
for everyday driving, use the D with the circle, ( this denotes overdrive ) it will give you the best overall fuel economy. Using just the D is usually reserved for when you are towing, as using overdrive with an extra load on the motor and transmission can cause premature overheating and failure of the drivetrain.
You can try "D" but vehicle should downshift automatically to required gear
