Extra keys wp you can hit notes more clearly, and easier, and so you can hit notes you cant get in the beginner models, and the better quality instrument tends to be made out of wood, for a more richer sound, instead of plastic.

A beginner Clarinet makes it easier for your sound to be good and to reach the high notes. A regular clarinet is what more advanced musicians use. A beginner can start out on a regular clarinet but it would be slightly harder than a beginner one.

A yamaha clarinet usually has a better fingering system which makes it easier to switch between notes. The tone of a yamaha clarinet is not as good with the mouthpiece orginal yamaha mouthpiece.

There are many more student clarinets made than anything else, so you could say that a student clarinet is a regular clarinet. I believe you are probably referring to the difference between student and professional models - there are also in-between models often referred to step-up models.

First, a student model has all the same keys that professional models have and, if kept in good adjustment, will play all of the same notes. Student models are made to be inexpensive, and traditionally they were made to be tough enough to stand up to the abuse that students unintentionally dish out. Unfortunately, many of the least expensive student clarinets don't live up to the toughness standard - they're just cheap.

Step-up and professional models will include key-work that is easier to play rapidly and may include features that can be adjusted for a player's preferences. They are made from the best materials and include features like undercut tone holes and hand finishing. They may be play tested and adjusted over many hours. These features and work are quite expensive, and students would not even be able to tell if those features were present, so there's no need to include them on student model instruments. Professional mouthpieces may cost more than a student clarinet and may require the skill of a professional even to sound good - but they do sound very good for a player who has that skill.

Good student instruments should play reasonably well in tune, should be made of strong durable materials, and should be repairable by a good Instrument Repair shop. Ideally they should be set up to produce a decent sound easily. Poor quality instruments don't meet those standards and many potentially good musicians give up because of an instrument that no one could play.

Is Yamaha clarinet ycl-24 made of wood?

The Yamaha C100 clarinet is a clarinet made out of plastic, it is possible to tell because if the instrument doesn't have any grain on it or it doesn't have any grain on the inside of the instrument then is a plastic clarinet. The C100 is the predecessor to the YCL-250 and is an excellent choice for a beginner/intermediate and for marching band.

What is the best clarinet the Yamaha ycl-250 clarinet or the Yamaha 450n clarinet?

The matter really depends on how good you are. The YCL-250 is part of the student range which is better for if you are continuing your studies from beginning. Where as the 450n is part of the intermediate range which is better when you are learning more technically difficult pieces with higher notes.

I have never even heard of that brand of clarinet. Ever. It must not be quality... or maybe it is just more obscure. And I have been playing for some time. Please take my advice, it will make all the difference. I would suggest a Yamaha, Armstrong, or Buffet.
