In a nutshell... not much! If you start in the warehouse you'll probably make $7-$8 per hour. Salesmen work mostly for commission, so you gotta hustle. Unless you are upper management or sell your butt off, you won't make a living. That's why most of the employees are in bands to make extra money. Also, if you get promoted to a management position, they usually move you to another store with very little notice. You either move, or find another job!

One can buy a Takamine acoustic guitar at Guitar Center. Guitar Center is a store geared towards selling guitars as well as any accessories that one may need for their guitar. Currently, a Takamine guitar at Guitar Center goes for about $999 excluding tax and shipping.
Sam Ash is another store very similar to the guitar center.
