The first one that is the "wake up call" is "Initium sapeientiae timor Domini' - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. The monks chant Ps 110 - 2nd part of vs 10 through the end. I'm still trying to figure out the 2nd one. I hear "Cantemus in excelsis gloria" but it isn't ringing a bell.
Trey
After Philip uses his cross at the quarry at dawn, they sing Veni Pater Divine Spiritus or something related. I'm still looking for confirmation on this and will keep looking. I want to desperately find this chant, as the power of the scene left me shaking. Trey's right, they do sing "Cantemus in excelsis gloria" right before the tenors join.
Echo
Yes the second chant is Veni Pater Divine Spiritus, but it is hard to find a good chant mp3 of this. some are quite new agey...the first one, that Phillip intones is Psalm 110 vs 9 through to vs 12, without the doxology though i think(no Glory to the father etc...i could be wrong)
