For a small country, the Irish are well travelled, and we took our music with us wherever we went. One of the places that Irish people ended up was in the Deep South in America, and it is believed that Irish musicians definitely influenced country music in it's origins. Well that's the history, but truth is that Irish music is still influencing country music today. Songwriters like Mick Hanly have written songs which have become major Country hits, 'Past the point of rescue' for Hal Ketchum is a good example.

Music that incorporates the language, history, folklore, and folk songs of a country is called "folk music" or "traditional music." This genre reflects the cultural identity and heritage of a community, often passed down through generations. It typically features traditional instruments and themes that resonate with the experiences and stories of the people. Folk music serves as a vital means of preserving and celebrating a nation's cultural legacy.

The plural of history is histories. If you say, "That country has a lot of history behind it", note that you are using the singular a lot. One does not say "That country has many history", but "many histories".
