"Do do do" became popular in song lyrics in the 1960s. Kris Kristpherson carried this further in his song, "Sunday Morning Coming Down" in which the entire long ending is made of repetitive "do do do" until it fades out at the end. Other artists have included this simple way to accent their songs, replacing just one or two words.
The group The Police also sang their hit, "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da," from "Every Breath You Take - The Singles."
