The five lines and four spaces on which notes on a musical page are written, are called a Staff. A Treble Clef and Bass Clef staff are combined for piano music. All notes, quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, etc. are placed on a staff or if they are higher than the staff allows, they use ledger lines. In a piano staff, a ledger line is a short line between the two staffs that is shown when the note Middle C is notated. Ledger lines can also be above the top staff or below the bottom staff.
A half note is usually just called a half note. Sometimes it is called a minim.
Line notes or notes that you see on the staff lines where the line goes right through the note. Any other note can precede or follow a line note, for instance a quarter or half note.

The sound of the half note depends on which note is being played. A half note represents length, not tone.

The stem of a half note should be drawn upwards if the note is written below the middle line of the staff, and downwards if it is written above the middle line.
Well, there is no three beat note but it is possible to make one. One way is to take a half note, if the time signature is 4/4, and add a dot to the right of it. The dot will add half of the value of the note, which would be three beats because half of a half note is a quarter note. Another way to do this is to draw two quarter notes with a dot side by side on the same line or space. Then draw a curved line connecting them together, which is called a tie. If you take a minim (a two beat note shown with an open circle with a stem) and then put a dot on the right, that will be three beats and it would be called a dotted minim.
minim
An eighth note, a quarter note, and a half note.
It is called the Death Note. Or rather, the Sixty-Fourth Note. Or, perhaps you mean the Foot Note?
