It basically means that the person misses that home town feeling where everyone knew everyone and that they sat around a lot just talking. Now we are all so fast paced that we don't slow down and enjoy life anymore. We also don't do as much together as friends and family. Mayberry is the fictional town on the old Andy Griffith show.
