I think he's trying to get his view point across that now that they're famous nothing going to be the same and that he's not worried about it but he can't look back and wish for his old life now because now he's got what he's always wanted he has to carry on so he's leaving his past behind him in the dark.
I also think he's talking about how every things changed nothings the same anymore. He's had to leave everything that he's ever known behind and move on.
