The plot is a man building a mental wall to block out the memories of his life he does not want to remember. Like in the begining when his father dies, memories of his school life, parts of life as a superstar, and later his failing marriage. In the end he is in internal conflict on whether to take down the wall and rejoin society or stay a mental hobbit.
