The food chain.
a transfer of chemical nutriet and energy
Without producers the consumers would have nothing to eat and wouldn't have any energy. Producers get energy directly from the sun. Consumers can't make their own food or energy without eating something else.
This is not called anything, as it is not possible. A food web shows the transfer of energy from one organism to the other, not just what kills what. For example, a food web will generally show arrows going from a producer, to a primary consumer, to a secondary consumer, and looping back with a decomposer, such as a worm.
Birds do not produce energy from light, so they cannot be producers. All birds are consumers.
is a deer a secondary consumer
producers
A small biomass of producers can support a consumer population when there is enough energy available from the producers to sustain the consumer species. This relationship is dependent on factors such as energy transfer efficiency and the specific nutritional requirements of the consumer species. If the producers can replenish their biomass efficiently and there is minimal energy loss along the food chain, a small biomass of producers can indeed support a consumer population.
Consumer
Primary Consumer - an organism that gets its energy from producers (plants). These are often called herbivores.
Energy transfer between consumers and producers is not 100% efficient. Some energy is lost as heat during each step of the transfer. Generally, only about 10% of the energy from one trophic level is transferred to the next level. This inefficiency results in a pyramid-shaped energy transfer model in an ecosystem.
Consumer Producers make their own food (like plants), while consumers (animals) eat other stuff to get their food.
Consumer because a consumer eats plants and animals for energy Producers create their energy through photosynthesis
The organism that feeds on producers is called a herbivore. Herbivores consume plant-based food sources as their primary source of energy and nutrients.
The transfer of energy is called Energy Transfer
Not all the energy from a producer transfer to a secondary consumer because some of this energy is lost along the way.
