I removed the previous answer for the following reasons: a) it advised plugging the guitar into a soundcard, giving an awful sound b) it also advised pirating software. ---- The BEST and easiest way to do this is unfortunatly a vaguely expensive one. Line6make a usb guitar interface called a TonePort. The model UX-1 is the cheapest. It allows you to plug a guitar into the device and then chose what amplifier you want it to sound like. Having used one of these on the Vox AC30 setting and owning a real AC30, it's not spot on but for the price it's fantastic. The basic software is provided to allow recording of guitar, bass and vocals. You could also get some sort of cheap microphone setup, and use this to pick up on your amplifiers sound and running that into your sound cards line in, do not use the microphone input as it'll mess up your tone.
