Drop D tuning is a special way of tuning a guitar which allows the base strings to play a 'power' chord. this makes the use of Bar chords much eaier because the three base strings can be manipulated with 1 finger.

tune to drop d then tune normally and you will be at d tuning then drop the low E down two steps to make drop C then tune that normally to get C tuning then drop that 2 steps and tune normally so now you have drop B then tune it normally to B tuning and finally drop the last string two frets and there you have it drop A( you can then repeat these steps to go lower my friend goes all the way to drop G)good luck

Drop d is a tuning where instead of tuning your top string of your guitar off of 5 then you tune it off of 7 so that it gets a deeper more heavy sound

Theoretically, it is possible, since none of the strings are actually tuned. The tuning of each string evolves from the software. Currently none of the preset patches use drop tuning, however.
