try 3523, it worked on my radio.
The radio suppression relay on a 1990 Volvo 240 is located in the engine compartment, specifically near the battery. It is typically mounted on the inner fender or near the fuse box. This relay helps to reduce electrical interference caused by the vehicle's ignition system. If you're having issues with the radio, checking this relay can be a good starting point.
a relay does not control both dome light and the radio.
jump power from the battery to the fan directly to see if the fan operates. if not, replace fan. interchange another relay with the fan relay to check the relay. there are usually the exact same relay located in the engine bay.
Replace the relay from under the hood. In the fuse/relay box near the battery
Some possibilities, could still be the battery, battery connections, starter, starter connections, ignition switch, starter relay and neutral safety switch.
On my car it was a relay called "Ignition relay". That relay also kept the battery for charging as it stopped and started the current flow to the battery AFTER the alternator. Changed and all symptoms you mentioned ( which I also had) went away.
the relay is behind and above the battery, you will see two heavy wires - one red and one orange coming out of it.

If you disconnect the battery (or the battery is very low and a relay will automatically disconnect the battery) you need to input the code for the radio. Maybe you battery is too old or too discharged.
I just changed mine, and it is under the seat. Remove the battery, and then there is a relay that is screwed to the inside of the back of the tractor under the battery compartment. Unscrew that relay and the fuse is attached to the wires coming out of that relay.
