∙ 14y agoPerhaps one of the most influential slide Guitarists, Lowell George, used a Sears and Roebuck 11/16 socket wrench. Some old blues men used the neck of a glass bottle - thus bottle-neck blues playing, while others used any metal object that came to hand and felt comfortable, even a lipstick holder has been used. Different materials will produce a different sound. Slide guitar can be played with the guitar flat on your lap - watch Road House starring Patrick Swayze, Jeff Healey is featured in this film, or play with your chosen slide in the more conventional position.

yes. as i recall there was an album featuring all blues guitarists entitled ATLANTIC BLUES- GIUTAR. it was issued in or around 1987 by Atlantic Records, & it featured Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, etc.
