Epiphone is the brand/manufacturer of the guitar. Chances are pretty good it looks a lot like a guitar with 'Gibson' on it, but it cost a lot less.
Gibson les paul if u got the money. fender strat is pretty versatile too.
It wasn't invented in any year. It has evolved for centuries. Les Paul is a pioneer in the development of the solid-body electric guitar which "made the sound of rock and roll possible." "Guitar-shaped instruments appear in stone bas-relief sculptures of the Hittites in northern Syria and Asia Minor from as far back as 1350 B.C. The word "guitar" also has origins in the Middle and Far East, deriving from "guit," the Arabic word for four and "tar," the Sanskrit word for string."
If you're referring to the main acoustic that he plays live, I'm about 99% sure it's a Gibson AJ Pro. I got close enough at a concert to get a pretty good look at it. If it's not an AJ Pro, it might be a custom J-45...It's definitely a Gibson though. I also saw him playing a Les Paul, but only on a couple songs.

he has many guitars. I'm pretty sure all or most of them are Gibson, though, as he is constantly thanking "Tina from Gibson". also, in the sour candy vid, i think he is playing a hummingbird he also uses a duesenberg guitar,
fruit, alcohol, pretty glass. You're Welcome!

Gaetano Vinaccia was one of the first I'm pretty sure - at least the earliest 6 string guitar was built around 1779 ! Others might claim several earlier dates for forerunners of the guitar, whose developers were not well recorded.
