Hi,
What is the species of the decoy?
Mike
daffy duck
In the Prokofiev original, the duck does not have a name, it's just called "the duck." In the Disney cartoon, the duck's name is Sonia. Sonia escapes the wolf in the Disney version; in the original, the duck does get eaten (but a line at the end explains that the duck was swallowed alive and can still be heard quacking in the wolf's stomach, which I guess is better than nothing).
A duck is a consumer. They do not make their own food (producer), and they don't eat waste (decomposer) so therefore they are a producer.(:
the duck song is hte first in a series of children songs that basically show a day in the life of a very odd duck you can find the duck song on youtube easily
In the Sergei Prokofiev composition "Peter and the Wolf" the duck is simply called "Duck" and is played by the oboe.In the Walt Disney cartoon adaption of Peter and the Wolf; the Duck is given the name Sonia.

This is why you wouldn't want to carve a duck decoy holding its head way up.
A carved, painted duck may be used as a decoy by hunters to lure real ducks for the hunters to shoot. Some evangelists may use as a decoy, a religious pamphlet that looks like paper money on one side, but has a religious message on the other side.
If they are in excellent shape, $45-$50 per decoy.

Disney collectibles, dolls, duck decoy collectibles and drawing are hobbies.
I had seen a signed original Pintail decoy that a gentleman had paid $850. Also, about 10 years ago, I had seen a signed Labrador Duck decoy go for around $650. Custom Art Concepts is one place I know of that has been reproducing a few of his pieces. If you have an original, consider yourself quite lucky, because he only makes a few. I understand he lives near La Crosse, WI. Don't know his phone number, but you might be able to find it in the La Crosse phone book and see if he'll take an order and make you an original.
Nevada's state artifact is the tule duck decoy. It was discovered in an excavation in 1924. Nevada's state fossil is the Ichthyosaur.
Yes. :) So is the Kooiker Hound, Small Dutch Waterfowl Dog, Duck Decoy dog etc.
YES, I have used it on hundreds of duck and goose decoys for over 20 years. It not only protects new paint, but it also renews the oxidized color on old decoys. It lasts for up to 5 years with normal use, and 1 can will treat about a dozen magnum duck decoys. Reapply when dullness starts to reappear.
i don't know but when you find out, let me know as I have one as well1 thanks,
