Yes, in their older albums and in a few of their newer songs they do use profanity. Not excessively, though. Their newer, more commercialized music seems more docile, though.
For "One Step Closer" by Linkin Park on a Line 6 Spider III 15W amp, set the amp to a high gain setting, around 6-8, to achieve that aggressive distortion. Use a moderate amount of treble (around 6) to cut through the mix and keep the midrange around 5 for a balanced tone. Adjust the bass to around 4-5 to avoid muddiness, and consider using a slight chorus effect for added depth. Experiment with the channel settings, but aim for a modern rock tone that captures the song's energy.
I think it was Phoenix Farrell. He use to be just a part time bass guitar player for linkin park. There for he wasn't included in the band pictures, until he became a full time bass guitar player. Hope this answer was usefull!
Bass, two guitars, drums, dj equiment and somtimes keybored and another guitar.
They mainly use Pro Tools. However, Mike has been seen using Mercury.
