To be more specific, he used a Shure U565SD Classic Unisphere Vocal Microphone.
The Shure U565SD was the predecessor to the famous Shure SM58, with nearly the same specs. As of today, 04/06/11, Shure still makes the U565SD as a part of their "Classic Collection" of vintage microphones.
