Ravel's music is all 'bigger' than Debussy's. It's more layered, more subtle, more romantic, sexier, etc. But, Ravel's music lacks the charm and unassuming creativity of Debussy's music. Debussy's music reminds me a lot of Mozart in that it always retains its dignity, even when it is very emotional.
