The have lack of space to build houses for families and also nowadays the have started to build upwards instead on across to economize space. A good example of this is that they have even got to build a gigantic building in which 1.000.000 people live!! Also the trains and public spaces are always crowded as the roads and motorways. They have decided to create smaller cars to reduce the traffic. As well they have problems of space with car parking, restaurants, hotels and lots more in which the have introduced technology and modern systems to solve this problems. Also the train tracks have no space to be built on so the have started to build them specially to go in and out the buildings by a hole through them.
The main reason for the lack of space in Japan is because 85% of the land in Japan is covered in mountains where they cannot build. They only have a 15% of land where it is possible to build.
Because of all this cars going everywhere in Japan, there's a lot of pollution and contamination.
I hope your question's been correctly answered. :)
