The punk rock band you're referring to is The Dead Kennedys. Two of its members, guitarist and co-founder East Bay Ray and bassist Klaus Flouride, were not assassinated; rather, the band is often associated with the politically charged climate of their time. However, it's important to clarify that the original members have had various fates, with frontman Jello Biafra still alive, while other members have passed away. The band is known for its impactful music and commentary on social issues, but not specifically for having members who were assassinated.

What is a Dominican tertiary?

Just for Just for clarification. The Third Order is divided into two groups: Regulars, religious sisters living in convents, and Seculars, which is made up by the laity. The first take holy vows, the latter only make a solemn promise which, however, distinguishes them from members of mere confraternities, and are legal members of a religious Order. Members of the Third Order are commonly called "Tertiaries" or "Laity". The general object of this specific Third Order is to bring the religious spirit of the cloister into the world and to sanctify its members by striving after greater perfection in union with the First Order made up by the Dominican priests and brothers and Second Order which is made up by cloistered nuns. Secular members lived normal lives, whether married or single, to perform their work in the ordinary world, but add the dimension of living their lives by their specific Rules and within the spirit of the Order. At the time of burial the member would request to be buried with the habit of the Order. The Franciscans also have the same devotional group. A practicing catholic, man or woman, can only belong to either the Franciscan or the Dominican Order and can not belong to both Orders at the same time but may leave one Order to join the other.

What is the harmonic series?

The harmonic series is a sequence of notes and frequencies. These notes occurr naturally, even resonating in natural cave formations and cathedrals. It has to do with the natural fractions of a frequency. Imagine a string vibrating. It creates a kind of elongated "jump rope" shape. Now imagine that we have placed a weight in that jumprope so that it is held down perfectly in half causing each side to rotate separately but in unison. This devision causes the note to jump up an octave on a stringed instrument. When you continue to make these devisions in the jump rope, (halfs, thirds quarters fifths, etc) the notes will sound in a specific series, starting with the first note (or open string), then a perfect octave above that, then a perfect fifth above that, then a perfect fourth, Major Third, Minor Third etc. The issue of the harmonic series is a complicated one because as one progresses up the natural order of fractions, the notes become imperfect or out of tune with one another. This is why today we have a tempered tuning system for our pianos instead of a harmonic series tuning system! There u go
