Could Twilight have been much more exciting and less romancy and have been a better book if the story line were different?

Since I asked this question, I'll answer it. THE ANSWER IS YES!!!!!!!!!!! IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER WITHOUT THE SOBBY ROMANCE! ROMANCE NOVELS ARE RUINING VAMPIRES!

What is a short summary for chapters 21-24 of the Hunger Games?

I don't know why you can read it for yourself but anyways, it's after Katniss goes to the feast at the Cornucopia and when gets to the cave and get knocked out. Peeta wakes her up and they are having a conversation and gets personal and romancy (; and Haymitch finally sends them feast at the end of the chapter.

What do you think are good books that you've read?

If you're looking for recommendations, it would help to know what kind of books you like. Most of Charles Dickens' works are quite good, as is pretty much anything by Samuel Clemens/Mark Twain.I personally like science fiction and fantasy, and would particularly recommend Larry Niven, Terry Pratchett and Clifford Simak. If you like adventure, you might try Edgar Rice Burroughs (yes, he wrote Tarzan; no, the books are not much like the "Me Tarzan, you Jane" stereotype of the movies... Tarzan in the books is actually quite intelligent) or Robert E. Howard (Conan). If you prefer more realistic adventures, try Ernest Hemingway. If you like romance ... dunno; I don't like romance novels, so I don't read any (the Mary Stewart books about King Arthur are about as "romancy" as I care to get; the first one in the series is "The Crystal Cave").Similarly, I don't much care for horror; a lot of people like Stephen King, though I think he "pads" his novels too much (he's a passable short story writer, though). HP Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe are other (and to my taste better) writers in that genre.

Know of any good vampire books that are not of the trashy romance variety?

-"Xoe" by Sara C. Roethle ________ Salem's Lot by Steven King was awsome, and of course the original Bram Stoker's Dracula - the book I Am Legend is vampiresque as well, and a great read. ________ Try Blue Bloods... the second one is Masquerade. Also there are the marked series (Marked, betrayed, chosen, untamed, and hunted) if you want funny read bloodsucking fiends and the sequal you suck ________ Try Dhampir and the series that follows it by Barb and J.C. Hendee. That is the only one I know that is not at all trashy romance (but I haven't read zillions, so it doesn't mean that it is the only one). For *less* trashy romance than usual, and an interesting story, you could also try Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking and the series that follows it. ________ Try Fledgling by Octavia E. Butler. She was more of a sci-fi writer but she had a really great new take on the vampire myths in my opinion! Other good books that are not the romancy type are the Cirque du Freak series (also made into a movie called the Vampire's assistant) by Darren Shan. Also the Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice, the Morganville Vampire series by Rachel Caine, Suck it up by Meehl, Thirsty by M.T. Anderson, and Eighth Grade Bites. Another good series is Vampire Academy but it not finished by Richelle Mead ________ Twilight is the definition of trashy romance ________ Salem's Lot by Stephen King is probably one of the best Vampire books I have read do you want adult or childrens books? it depends You could try Dusk. It's a graphic novel (see link).
