Surprise, many of the popular songs done by the Platters and some Doo-Wop groups originally came out in the thirties, such as Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Where or When, (Thought to be a eulogy on Jean Harlow), You Belong to Me ( thought to commemorate the Electra Project) and one somewhat morbid one- Love Me Forever. All of these songs have been successfully revived, no Slump or depression angle here-though the last named song does suggest a suicide pact.
