Reggae encompasses several subgenres, including roots reggae, which focuses on social and spiritual themes; dancehall, known for its upbeat tempo and party-oriented lyrics; dub, characterized by remixing and heavy use of reverb and echo; and ska, which combines elements of jazz and rhythm and blues with a faster tempo. Other variations include rocksteady, which serves as a precursor to reggae with a slower beat, and reggae fusion, which blends reggae with other genres like hip-hop, rock, and electronic music. Each subgenre reflects different cultural influences and musical styles within the reggae tradition.
First there was Ska, out of which evolved Rocksteady, which in turn became Reggae, which has developed into a number of different styles: Roots, Dub, Dub Poetry, Toasting, Lover's Rock, Niyabingi (traditional drumming and chanting) and Dancehall (both Slack and Conscious). There are different types of reggae. These are often a clash between two music genres that make up a sub-genre. Ragga Metal is one. Ragga Metal is a clash between reggae and metal. We also have the reggae-fusion, hip-hop - rap kinda reggae which is reggae with a more rap singing instead of the ''typical'' reggae singing style. Rap with a reggae kinda beat.
There are a good bit of reggae in RUSH songs, which reggae is one of my favorite genres. Digital Man has reggae throughout the song. Spirit of the Radio has a little reggae jam in it. Vital Signs also has some reggae. The album Grace Under Pressure has it sprinkled throughout.
There are many musical genres and more evolving from like sub genres so there is no real number
Reggae is a genre of music, dancehall is a sub-genre within reggae. Dancehall has more of a hip-hop influence than traditional roots and one-drop reggae beats.
Electronic Dance Music (EDM) encompasses a vast array of sub-genres, with estimates ranging from over 30 to more than 100, depending on how broadly one defines each category. Some of the most notable sub-genres include house, techno, trance, drum and bass, dubstep, electro house, and future bass. Each sub-genre has its unique characteristics, tempos, and cultural influences, contributing to the diversity of EDM as a whole. As the genre continues to evolve, new sub-genres and hybrid styles frequently emerge.

Cumbia, Saloma, Bolero, Jazz, Salsa, Rock, Reggae, Calypso and a few other musical genres. Reggae is the most popular though.
There is no link other than the fact that they are both genres of music begun by the descendants of ex-slaves, jazz in the US and reggae in the West Indies.
