Body Count
The heavy metal band Body Count was form in 1990 by rap singer Ice-T and the guitar palyer Earnie C. Ice-T and Earnie-C whent to the same high school together.
Ice-T was a guest vocalist for Slayer (the song "Disorder" from the Judgment Night soundtrack) and for Six Feet Under.
Body Count
Pretty much every Heavy Metal band which doesn't strictly follow the Black Sabbath/Judas Priest/Motorhead blueprint shows some degree of Punk influence. Thrash Metal is very heavily derived from Hardcore Punk, and it's been a further influence on styles such as Death Metal. Even Ice-T derives the mentality and tough guy image of his music from Punk and Hardcore, having been a fan of bands such as Discharge and GBH himself (a fact he has often paid tribute to with the covers his side project Body Count have performed).
I'd go with Heavy Metal, personally. Although I still like a little bit of NWA and Ice-T from time to time.
