I'm not sure of the actual brand, but he does not use vocal effects to achieve his sound. Most metal vocalists don't anyway. I am in a black metal band and i can achieve alot of the same pitches relatively easily, form very low, to low, to mid, to high, to shrieks. You just have to learn how to sing in a classical way first then, then apply the principle to singing in a metal rasp, growl, etc.
