What type of music is house mix?

A house mix consists of music that was once grand in the late 1980's to early nineties. I was played in clubs and bars and found it's way to mix tapes and radio. Many DJ's you hear of now days are famous because of the house music they played in certain clubs that drew lines around the block. Some clubs had parties that was formed from the line outside the club, sometime spilling out to the street. I lived this scene during they heyday. Since it is loved so much by the LBGT community I choose to distance myself from it and leave the scene to what it is today, extra flamboyant!
