What type of electric guitar does chad Kroeger play?
Chad plays a variety of guitars, but almost exclusively uses Paul Reed Smith electrics, mostly the Singlecut models. As for acoustics, he usually plays Gibson acoustics, but he has been seen with several different acoustics before. For his clean tones on stage, he uses a Vox Valvetronix AD120VT and a Fender Twin Reverb 1965 re-issue. However, the Twin-Reverb is modified to function as a head only. I'm not too sure how old that is. For his dirty sounds on stage, he uses Mesa/Boogie Triple Recitifer Solo heads. I know he uses a Mesa/Boogie Stilleto Deuce head and a Mesa/Boogie Lonestar 1/12 combo, but I'm not sure for what. I'm guessing some clean tones or something, they might be his more recent clean tone set up. He uses Mesa/Boogie 4x12 Straight, Recitifier cabs. Live, he uses a few effects. A talkbox, some Delay/Reverb effects and wah-wah. All of these effects are controlled by his guitar tech backstage. Anyways, in short, if you want to sound like Chad, just buy a PRS and Mesa/Boogie Rectifier.
