The short answer is: other animals.
The short answer isn't likely to be sufficient for a Biology test though. It's best to understand what kinds of consumers exist, and how they interact with producers.
The food chain (or energy chain):
PRODUCERS. These organisms receive their energy directly from the sun. Plants are the most common producers.
CONSUMERS. These organisms receive their energy by eating other organisms. Their bodies then convert their food into energy.
- PRIMARY CONSUMERS or HERBIVORES. These organisms eat producers.
- SECONDARY CONSUMERS or CARNIVORES. These organisms eat primary consumers.
- TERITIARY CONSUMERS. These are also carnivores. More specifically, they are carnivores who eat secondary consumers.
Example:
Producer = plant
Primary consumer = insect (eats plant)
Secondary consumer = small bird (eats insect)
Tertiary consumer = large bird of prey (eats small bird)
Snakes are one example. The producer for that specific example could be shrubs and grasses, the primary consumer could be grasshoppers, the secondary consumer could be mice, and the third level consumer could be snakes.
Hawaiian Monk Seals would be considered a type of consumer. This is because they eat other organisms for food and don't make their own food.
consumer
Yes, as is every member of a food chain. The top member of a food chain becomes prey to another food chain and its consumer(s).
Its A consumer because it can't make its own food and it's an animal yes or no
Cows are at the bottom of the food-chain, since they are herbivores, not carnivores. In contrast, humans would be at the top.
Yes - this would be a tertiary consumer. Anything that does not create its own food is a consumer.
Consumer.
it would be the connivers herbivore
Yes, if you feed on secondary consumers, you would still be considered a consumer in the food chain. Consumers are organisms that obtain energy by consuming other living organisms. Your position in the food chain would be determined by what organisms you directly consume for energy.
An Ostrich is a consumer. A produce would be somthing such as a plant that makes it's own food. A consumer gets it's foor therefore it is a consumer.
A wolf would be a secondary consumer. They feed on primary consumers.
No, producers are organisms that can make their own food eg green plants.
They have the consumer part in the food web
stale food hair in food bugs in food food poisoning
1) Lion is a consumer who takes a deer (who is also a consumer) for food. All Omnivores take another consumer i.e. herbivores for food!
Yes, a maple tree produces its own food and there for is a primary consumer, anything that eats the maple tree would be a secondary consumer.
