The earthquake
There's a whole lot to it, actually, and real scientific. But basically, you can get AM radio from a distance at night, and only local during the day, because the straight waves of radio bounce from the ionosphere back to earth. The ionosphere is composed differently, depending on if it's day or night. When it's nighttime, the ionosphere reflects much better, thus you can hear stations from farther away.

The earthquake
It all depends on how you look at it. For some people, yes, it is. Alot!!! But to others it's not that bad. They most likely hear it all the time. This day and age you never know what you might hear on the radio next.

Concerts are exciting and the good thing is that you dont have to buy them if you want to see your favorite performer. Radio stations give away concert tickets when there is an artist coming to the area. The seats are very good with the tickets that are given away, and you dont have to pay for them. When you hear about a radio contest, tune in to the station every day to hear all the details about what you have to do to win tickets. Call the radio station as soon as you hear the key to call and be persistent if you want to win.
If you have the radio card you can listen to this song every other day the other days you hear the Pokemon parade.
Deja Vu Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio Did you try to read the writing on the wall Did that voice inside you say I've heard it all before It's like Deja Vu all over again Day by day I hear the voices rising Started with a whisper like it did before Day by day we count the dead and dying Ship the bodies home while the networks all keep score Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio Could your eyes believe the writing on the wall Did that voice inside you say I've heard it all before It's like Deja Vu all over again One by one I see the old ghosts rising Stumblin' 'cross Big Muddy Where the light gets dim Day after day another Momma's crying She's lost her precious child To a war that has no end Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio Did you stop to read the writing at The Wall Did that voice inside you say I've seen this all before It's like Deja Vu all over again It's like Deja Vu all over again

Nighttime is quieter therefore allowing for you to hear the normal noises that would otherwise be masked by daytime activity. That creaking floor is the same one you do not hear when the TV or radio is on during the day.
