Beethoven's childhood:

Ludwig van Beethoven was believed to be born on the 16th or 17th of December 1770 and was baptized in the Catholic parish church of St. Remigus in Bonn, Germany. His parents, Johann van Beethoven and Maria Magdalena Keverich had married on 12th December 1767. They lived in 515 Bonngasse. Johann was 27 at that time and his wife was six years younger. The child was named Ludwig after his grandfather, a choirmaster. His dad, Johann gave him piano lessons when he was 4-5 years old. Despite from the fact that his father taught him brutally, Ludwig had developed a passion for music. At the age of eight, he performed his first concerto with his younger sister. Johann then decided that Ludwig should learn from many different teachers. These teachers were Christian Gottlob Neefe, a composer.

Ludwig's dad had a really bad temper which caused many problems in his childhood. His dad sometimes came home drunk and woke Beethoven in the middle of the night just to play for his friends. Ludwig then dropped out of school in 1781 due to fatigue and to dedicate his life to music. In 1781 Beethoven was invited to Holland. Similar to Mozart, Beethoven toured as a "child prodigy". They arrived in Rotterdam in autumn 1781. Six years later, in 1867, Ludwig travelled to Vienna.
