Elvis recorded a song for his mother's birthday in 1954 called "My Happiness." This is readily available on a number of CDs/albums.

Elvis' first record release was "That's All Right Mama" backed with "Blue Moon of Kentucky" in August, 1954, and it did not do very well in the charts. His first hit was "Heartbreak Hotel" in January 1956.
