John was, for me, the lead figure. Paul has an angelic face, which cannot be said of Ringo. George was the quiet one, or so it appeared. In the early days, although their hair was, for the time, quite long, they were clean cut which contrasted with the wild, bad boys, The Rolling Stones. They were well turned out and pleasant, but soon John would cut through with acidic wit & humour.
