I've cleaned up the question. What you are referring to has nothing to do with The Rolling Stones. It was a song that Dr. Hook And The Medicine Show released in 1973 and hit # 6 on the US Pop Chart. Shel Silverstein who was an American poet, singer, songwriter, musician, composer, cartoonist, screenwriter, and an author of children's books wrote the song. So far I am unable to find the date the song was written. I will keep looking.
