Depending on which circuit Could be defective component Vibration causing a wire to short to ground
There is a dead short to ground in the circuit.
Short answer: Never. It doesn't have one. Long answer: The engine 4.0L 6cyl uses a chain, and those are usually for the life of the engine. There is a very small chance that this chain fails. In this case it will probably produce a rattling noise before it cause problems.
it could be 1 of 2 things.#1-it overheated or #2- the wiring going to it shorted out due to overheating. I heard that some jeep models had faulty seat heaters that overheated, dont know if it was a recall item. my seats get red hot, but nothings broke yet. There is a recall on the heated seat elements from 1999 to 2004 Grand Cherokees. Call your dealership with the VIN (vehicle identification number) and they will be able to tell you if they have been replaced. If not, it should only take them a few hours.
WJJEEPS.COM has a good write up on this but the short answer is the is a bolt that holds the headlight housing that you remove then gently pull the housing forward until it pop out of the clips.
Short circuit in your vehicle alarm system. In most alarms, some lights will flash on and off as an indicator of an attempted break in.

A short in the brake light circuit.
It could be a fuse or yes a short.
you have a short in your alarm system. this will cause your engine to idle ruff and cut off, or, not start at all.
A short time is normal, if it won't stop, your relay is stuck, replace it.
take the negative terminal off and put a test light between the cable and the battery post. if the light comes on and then goes out. there is no short if it comes on and stays on then there is a short.
