Aerosmith broke up in 1979 literally because of spilt-milk. Joe Perry's then-wife Elyssa threw a glass of milk at Tom's wife Terry while Aerosmith was on stage. When the concert was over and Aero came back from the stage, Joe and Steven had a huge fight, Steven defending Terry and Joe defending Elyssa. After the fight Joe quit Aerosmith and formed the Joe Perry Project, while Aerosmith continued with new guitairst, Jimmy Crespo. Aerosmith then continued their tour in support of their new album "Night In The Ruts" and started recording their new album "Rock In A Hard Place". Soon after the beginning of the sessions for Hard Place, Rhythm Guitarist, Brad Whitford left because he couldn't take Steven's intense drug habit anymore. After he left Aerosmith, Brad teamed up with ex-Ted Nugent vocalist, Derek St. Holmes, and made an album simply titled "Whitford/ St. Holmes". While this was happening, the Aerosmith camp (now with Rock Dufay on rhythm guitar) was struggling with Steven to come up with lyrics for Hard Place and ended up realeasing a major flop album. While Aerosmith was soon to be dropped from the label, Joe was having horrible luck with his solo career and Brad left Derek. After Brad left Derek, Brad joined the Joe Perry Project and this was one step closer to the return of Aerosmith. While Joe Perry was filming the video for his new single "Black Velvet Pants" he met his now-wife Billie Montgomery. After a Valentines Day show in Worcester, Joe and Brad both re-joined the band and thus the return of dirty, sleazy rock N roll. After this Aerosmith has 10 more albums, have been inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame and has been on countless tours
