There are many composers who wrote a 'toccata in D minor' . Probably the most famous is the Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565 by JS Bach.
He wrote 18 sonatas for piano. There is also a traditional "19th" sonata which consist of two separate works usually performed as a complete sonata. He wrote 17 church sonatas. He wrote 36 violin sonatas. He also wrote 3 other chamber sonatas, one for bassoon and cello, and two for violin and bass. If my math is correct, he wrote 75 sonatas.
I do not know who wrote the biography on Johann S Bach, but Allen Krantz wrote a biography.

No. They both wrote a lot of music for voice. As just two famous examples: Bach's Mass in B Minor, and Handel's "Messiah".
