Madonna's first album release was her self-titled album "MADONNA", released on Vinyl-Record and Audio-Cassette (it was originally going to be called "LUCKY STAR" after one of the songs on the album).
It was re-issued in 1985 as "MADONNA: THE FIRST ALBUM" to celebrate Madonna's breakthrough. It had a different cover and text font, both of which were of Madonna's "LIKE A VIRGIN" look. This edition was also released on vinyl-record and audio-cassette.
When the album was remastered and released on CD in 2001, both the original album releases and the "MADONNA: THE FIRST ALBUM" releases were withdrawn from sales. The 2001 CD has the same cover & text of the original release and 2 exclusive bonus tracks.
