Well my friend is like. COUNTRY GODESS so she knows what it means it's about Blake's dad leavin' to live with famiy but none wanted him to go and he died. Atleast that's what she said at an interview

∙ 12y agoI'm not entirely sure why she wrote it, but, what I do know is so many things happened when she released that song that fits with it. So I think it's about losing her friend, father in law, and just the loss of the ones you love in general.
