Jackson Browne. It's called "These Days", and it's on his "For Everyman" album from 1973. Um, actually. Nico from the album "Chelsea Girl" 1967. Jackson Browne DID write it, but that version wasn't the first recorded or released. He did provide the guitar parts for that version.
