If you mean American goldfinch, they go through a molt in early fall and resemble females, then regain the bright colors in Spring.
the male bird should always protect the nest
Most likely because they are the color purple. The females and immature males are dull brown with dark-brown streaks, but the mature males have a purple "cape" over their head, throat, and the upper part of their backs. So, yes, you can see purple finches that are not purple. Male purple finches are more of a rosy, red color, with a white belly. They have been described as a sparrow dipped in raspberry juice.
Finches like to have company, so I suggest having a male and a female together in the same cage. They are very cute together, they always snuggle with each other :) Put a nest in their cage and they will sleep there together at night. However, they will usually keep breeding continually. If you don't want to have cute fluffy baby finches, you can take our the eggs every time you see them and throw them away. But if you do want cute fluffy baby finches, they are very fun to watch grow up and there is nothing you need to do for them, just take them out when the parents start picking on them. You can put them in another cage, free them outside, or you can sell them at a near bye pet store. I have zebra finches, so this may varie depending on your breed of finch.
The Christian song with the lyrics "no words to describe" sung by a male vocalist is Ever We Fall.
The American Goldfinch is bright yellow showing a black crown, wings, and tail. Its rump and wingbars have been left white. The female, as is non-breeding the male, are olive-brown on top; and buff-gray on the bottom; the wings and tail are black and the wingbars are white. All of these birds, at any season, show a trace of yellow.

A male goldfinch fits that desciption, but only the top of the head is black.

a finch can come as one couler or it can come in rainbow but when its rainbow you can notice if the bird is a girl or boy because the bright coulerd one would usually be the boy and the paild rainbow type is usually the girl :)

There are hundreds of species of yellow moths in the US alone, thousands if not tens of thousands worldwide. The most common yellow moths in the eastern US are the crocus geometer, rosy maple moth, imperial moth, male io moth, and a few others.
It is probably a male, as the males have bright colors and is much more colorful than the female.look at his/her tale to see if there is bars across it, and if it mimics or talks its most likely a malee. but the way you described your cockatiel it sounds like a male with the yellow and red cheeks. :)
The yellow throated plated lizard is usually male.
Male cardinals are bright red with a black face and not quite as bright red beak. There can sometimes be some darker shades of red and grey on their wings. The females are not quite as bright of a red.
Female birds are always lighter in color and not with bright colors. Male birds have bright colors to attract the females.
