I have a daewoo festival guitar with the humingbird design (looks like the epitone). Excellent condition, but I no longer play.
I have #13916 and don't know if it is genuine
While I don't have much info for you, I can tell you I have the same model guitar, however it is straight acoustic. Mine has a date stamped on the inside of March 20th 1979. I have seen a goodwill auction with this specific guitar close at $141.00. This is the link to that auction. http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Gilbert-Guitar-LargeBodySteelString-LuckyBuckNR-5119989.html
I have a Fender Gemini Model 1 serial 189. It is a nylon classical acoustic. I havent been able to find any info online so if you do please let me know. edland38611@Yahoo.com
Try putting the DT38N/S nylon or steel strings on your Cortez acoustic guitar. (Just adding to your answer and partially answering my own question) with further study the guitar seems to match the jazz type it has the steel bridge at the end and is fairly small in size so gypsy jazz stings should work given the bronze and nylon don't sound right
Try emailing info@blacksnakemoan.com============= Judging from the two film stills I've seen, they are a Gibson ES-335 with dot neck (electric), and a Gibson Dove with a plain pickguard (acoustic).

your first guitar is one that you buy to practise on, and then after a year or so, if you like guitaring and would like to continue playing it, i recommend you buy a more expensive, reliable one that would last years! because wen buying a guitar, believe it or not, but you actually get wat you pay for =] wen i first started playing guitar, i was getting acoustic lessons at skool. but then i felt i liked guitaring alot, so i jst bought a starter package that was £65. the starter package incleuded: 1 electric KCC guitar, 1 KCC 15watt amplifier, 4 picks/plectrums, a strap, a thing that u blow into and tune your guitar to how it sounded, a lead that u can connect your guitar to your amplifier, and 6 extra strings. now that is a good deal. although, i hav now had it for 2 years and it is still working fine, but i wanted a new guitar n amplifier for this xmas. so i jst recommend u buy a starter acoustic or electric package. i have put a couple of websites where you can get an acoustic or electric package from. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5407512/Trail/searchtext%3EACOUSTIC+GUITAR.htm http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5450459/Trail/searchtext%3EACOUSTIC+GUITAR.htm if these are not what you want, then keep on searching. a good website that u can get a package deal for a good price is argos. more info is below. argos website is: www.argos.co.uk when you are on the website, click on the box where it says: Search by word or catalogue number. then type in the box: acoustic guitar
