Can you play a acoustic electric guitar through an electric guitar amp?

Definitely, there isn't really a distinction between electric-acoustic and just electric amps. You can hook up your acoustic to any amp that has a clean setting, which is basically anything. Just don't plug it into a bass amp o_O

Can you use your Electric-Acoustic with an Electric amp?

Sure you can but, it will not sound near as good as if you use an amp made just for acoustic guitars. Electric guitar amps all have distortion even if it is set and sounds perfectly clean to your ears....distortion is not an acoustic guitars friend. If you dont believe me go to a guitar store and plug in an electric acoustic into each amp...you will see what I mean.

Do electric guitars need amps?

Electric guitars need amps. Amps provide the sound that electric guitars are made to produce. Without the amp, you do not get any sound except vibrating strings. ======================= Not necessarily. Many electric guitars -- especially hollowbodies -- have sound chambers and sound holes, so they'd make acoustic sounds as well. But obviously, if you want the "normal" electric-guitar sounds, you'd need an amplifier. Some guitars actually come with an amplifier built-in, such as the Fernandes Nomad. Others designed for practice can be played with headphones, such as the Traveler guitar.

Do dean basses work with guitar amps?

Never use any bass with any guitar amp. Guitar amps are not meant to handle the lower register of a bass, and the speakers on your guitar amp will blow out if you try to play a bass through them.

If someone plays guitar and no sound comes out are you plucking it too hard?

Well, that matters. If it's an acoustic guitar, and no sound comes out, that could never happen. But if it's an electric guitar you're talking about, either the amps not on, the volume is not up on the guitar or amp, or the cord that leads from the amp to the guitar input jack is bad. You should be able to hear a slight noise from an electric guitar even with the amp malfunctioning or switched off, since the strings do make slight vibrations in airspace anyway. Perhaps they have their hand or arm muting the strings?
